Acai Bowls and Smoothies are one of my favorites right now. The taste is so good and unique and Acai berries are just so good for you. The berries come from the rainforest in the amazons.
They are full of anti-oxydents, boost your immune system and aid in maintaining a healthy digestion and weight loss.

I prefer the frozen sachets from your local health food store. The freezing method keeps all the benefits alive and also does not need any preservatives compared to the unfrozen variant. Also the frozen acai can add an extra creamy texture to your smoothie.

If you follow me on snapchat you know this is the smoothie I made today and was so surprised how good it was that I said I will write down the recipe.
After drinking the smoothie I actually met a friend for lunch who had her first acai bowl and loved it. So if you never tried Acai try it, you most probably won’t regret it.

Ingredients:
makes 2 big smoothies
– 1 sachet of frozen acai
– 1 banana
– 1 pear
– 4 teaspoons barley grass
– 250ml almond milk (forgive me cup people must be around 1 1/3 cups)
– maca powder and bananas for topping

Method:
-take the frozen acai sachet out of the freezer, hold it under hot running water for 10 seconds to make it easier to blend.
-put all the ingredients except the topping in a blender and blend until creamy.
-pour the smoothies in a jar or big glass and sprinkle the topping over it. Use a straw or even a spoon to enjoy this super quick and healthy smoothie.
